The actual main smart meter(s) itself is best placed in an accessible area in your home. From time to time you will need to access it to enter codes, or read from the small screen if it displays any messages or a balance for you.
Your actual small portable In Home Display can be placed in effect anywhere in your home - however, we always advise placing it as close to the main smart meter as possible to ensure that it has the strongest connection signal for the two devices to communicate to one another! 😀

@Rebecca hi I had an engineer come out on Friday he was not helpful at I moved the in house display next to the electric meter and all day Sunday and yesterday I can't see what I'm using for my gas just saying no status I'm getting really fed up with this can't seem to sort the problem out
