There can be a number of reasons why we'd ask you for a meter reading if you have a smart meter - I want to reassure you though that it's a normal procedure!
We'll usually ask you for a meter reading once or twice a year - these are known as "check" readings, and just make sure that the readings that appear on you In Home Display, App and meter itself are still correct. Our systems are fantastic, but it helps to make sure everything is in order as well with a human set of eyes!
Occasionally though, we'll sometimes lose connection to your meters, and if this is the case we'll also ask for some readings. If you DM me some account information, I'll take a look and check that everything is working ok for you.
