We have been with Utilita, for both our Gas and Electricity, since 2013. However, having had a lot of issues with our PAYG credit not lasting us as long as it used to, and with Utilita not being very helpful when we enquired, so time ago, about switching to another payment method, we are now looking into whether we can move our Gas to a new supplier on a monthly payment basis, without having to move both.

Can you please advise if we can do this?

    Hi @dosborne67,

Thanks for your post. I'm sorry you found Utilita to be quite unhelpful when you got in touch before. In order to switch to direct debit or monthly billing with us, we would need to complete a credit check first. This can be done by our billing team by calling 01962 874 844.

To answer your question about switching the gas to a new supplier without moving the electric, yes this is possible to do. Some suppliers may not take over one supply without the other, but this is entirely at the discretion of the supplier. I would point out aswell that separating the gas and electric can result in a loss of the smart meter functionality on the gas, due to the smart meter signal working through the electricity meter.

No matter if you decide to stay with ourselves or go to another supplier, you can find some energy saving tips on our website here; High 5 | Utilita Energy, which may help save a bit of money on the gas and electric.

I hope you find this helpful.

    Thanks,
    William

@WilliamB My apologies, WilliamB. I've just looked at my original message. In error, I said we wanted to move the Gas, when in fact it's the Electricity we want to move to a new supplier. Would this still be possible? Please advise. Many thanks.
