    Hi all

I have been with Utilita for over 4 years and am not in any form of debt. I have been requested an In Home Display since joining them and finally after many empty promises I have received one today.

In the accompanying letter it requests a copy of my tenancy agreement. I believe this is so I won't be charged the £39.99 for the IHD.

Why now are they requesting this be sent with the next 14 days. I was not told about this nor am I replacing a damaged IHD. Can anyone advise or even a Utilita operative contact me please. I have been on the chat hold most of the day but can't get through.

    Many thanks

@Dalboy Hey there! I hope you are well? 🤗

How strange, I agree this should not be the case - especially if you have never received one.

Can I confirm that since you joined us and have been in the property you have never had a Utilita In Home Display?

    Thanks,
    Rebecca

    Hi Rebecca

That's correct I have until now never received an IHD from Utilita. I had requested one on many occasions and told it would be sent by certain dates but never received one.

In fact once I actually received this one a few days ago it wouldn't connect to my smart meter and spoke to someone on your chat who said it had to be activated at your systems end first. After around a day it connected and is now working as it should.

He also said that the letter requesting a copy of my tenancy agreement was a standard letter and as this is my first IHD it doesn't apply to me. I did ask for a copy of the chat but this never arrived but fortunately I screen shot on my phone where he said I would not be charged and don't worry about sending the agreement.

All I want is to know that I won't charged the £39.99 for something I should have been given 5 years ago and never was. If I am to be charged then I will be sending it back and getting one cheaper off Amazon.

    Let me know soonest

@Dalboy Hi there, sorry to hear this - it does not sound like smooth sailing. Can you private mail me by clicking here your full address that the account is under, and best contact number, I can then get this escalated on your behalf.

    Thanks,
    Rebecca 😊
