I am currently on PAYG electricity and am using between £5 and £9 per day, my whole flat is on electricity including the hot water and the heating. Is this not extremely high? I've been wondering if I am not paying for the landlord's supply as well? Is there any way I could find out?

Hi @katjavm, I would say that because you are all electric then I would expect you to spend £5 or £6 a day but £9 seems a little excessive. Is this a recent spike in usage/cost, because I'm wondering if you have bought any new appliances lately - or are you using a certain appliance/hot water more than you usually would, which would cause this sudden rise in usage and cost?

Hi Debby, I did use my heating and hot water more in the winter time, up until about 1 month ago. I got a smart meter installed today, so I will be able to keep a closer eye on the consumption and usage. Thank you for your help.

@katjavm That's ok, see how you get on with the new smart meter.
