Norwich 0 – 0 Wolves
Norwich City extended their unbeaten run to three matches as they were held to a goalless draw by Wolverhampton Wanderers at Carrow Road. Norwich stay 19th with nine points while Wolves remain sixth on 20 points.
Liverpool 4 – 0 Southampton
Diogo Jota scored twice, including the fastest goal of the season, as Liverpool eased to a 4-0 win over Southampton. After just 97 seconds at Anfield, Andrew Robertson squared for Jota to put Liverpool ahead. Liverpool rise to second on 28 points, one behind Chelsea who host Manchester United on Sunday. Southampton drop to 14th on 14 points.
Crystal Palace 1 – 2 Aston Villa
Matt Targett and John McGinn struck in either half to extend Steven Gerrard's winning start as Aston Villa manager. A second win in a row under Gerrard lifts Villa four places to 11th with 16 points, level with Palace a place above them.
Arsenal 2 – 0 Newcastle
Second-half goals by Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli earned Arsenal a 2-0 win over Newcastle United at Emirates Stadium. Arsenal stay fifth on 23 points, level with West Ham United. Newcastle remain bottom with six points as they still await their first win of the season.
Chelsea 1 – 1 Manchester United
Jorginho's second-half penalty rescued a 1-1 draw for Chelsea against Manchester United after Jadon Sancho made it one nil to United with his first league goal for the club. The Blues had their lead at the top of the table cut to only one point.
Man City 2 – 1 West Ham
Goals from Ilkay Gundogan and Fernandinho secured a 2-1 home win for Manchester City over fourth-placed West Ham United to move the champions within a point of leaders Chelsea. City move to 29 points, while West Ham stay on 23 points.
Leicester 4 – 2 Watford
Jamie Vardy scored twice to extend his impressive home scoring run against Watford as Leicester City won 4-2 at the King Power Stadium. Victory takes Leicester up to 10th on 18 points while Watford remain 16th, five points behind.
Brentford 1 – 0 Everton
Ivan Toney's first-half penalty secured Brentford's first home win since the opening day of the season as they beat Everton to move above them in the table. Toney's second goal in as many matches arrived on 24 minutes following Andros Townsend's high challenge on Frank Onyeka. The spot-kick was awarded following a VAR review. Brentford move up to 12th with 16 points while Everton are a point worse off and drop to 14th.
