    Match week 10 Review

How unpredictable were this weekends results yet again?! Football fans will have been tuned into the results and recorded Match of the Day this weekend whilst preparing for their own Halloween antics.

    Leicester 0 – 2 Arsenal

Starting at the King Power stadium, The Arsenal beat Leicester City away 2-0 maintaining their recent form of results and now going 9 games unbeaten after their troubling start to the league following early goals in the first half. Arteta’s young men are looking like a rejuvenated side with a lot of exciting football to produce, their new signings are providing to be a revelation particularly Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale. The latter was man of the match in this game with some very important saves with the highlight being that wonderful stop against James Maddison’s dangerous freekick.

    Tottenham 0 – 3 Man UTD

This match certainly had the eyes of many important decision makers in the game, as you may be aware both managers went into this match with increasing pressure on each of their job roles due to recent performances, but it was Manchester United who were successful in a match I’ve heard referred to as the ‘El-Sacko’. Another poor performance from Spurs meant that Ole’s side were victorious capitalising on some vital mistakes, it just did not appear as if the Tottenham players fancier this match at all. The highlight of the match was for sure Cristiano Ronaldo’s performance, he managed a goal and assist and looked more like his usual self.

    Man City 0 – 2 Crystal Palace

This was a good day to be a Palace fan, their team looks so exciting under new boss and Arsenal legend Patrick Viera. The football being played by this talented Crystal Palace side is remarkable and they seem to have sparked into life under their new boss, Wilfried Zaha is back to his best form whilst the remaining players all seem to be believing in themselves more so than seen in previous years.

    Aston Villa 1 – 4 West Ham

Aston Villa struggled against another team in a great run of form, increasing their abilities year after year and Declan Rice the young English international has been putting in some stellar performances, this game was surely another one of those, he picked up yet another Man of the Match award to go along with his fine goal in the 90. This Villa side struggled at home and their recent form will continue to plummet should they not get their desired result away at Saint Mary’s this upcoming week.

    Burnley 3 – 1 Brentford

Elsewhere, the newest exciting addition to the premier league - Brentford FC have started to feel the reality of being in this league. They lost to Burnley away and never looked quite like they have against respectively ‘better’ clubs so far. The result was 3-1 and the highlight was the new Burnley’s signing getting another goal in his short time for the club with another great performance. He is for sure one to watch this season.

    Liverpool 2-2 Brighton

Liverpool drew at home to Brighton, the South coast side looked fantastic in this game and looked capable of taking all three points away with them if not for the intervention of VAR. This one finished 2-2.

    Watford 0 – 1 Southampton

Southampton took all 3 points home away at Watford with a quality, must-watch strike from Che Adams. Walker-Peters and the saints centre half Mohammed Salisu were particularly great in this match.

    Wolves 2 – 1 Everton

Wolves managed to keep Everton at bay and retain the 3 points in a 2-1 victory. Although his teammates were not up to par in this match, Fabian Delph played particularly well in what would have been a difficult loss for him. Raul Jimenez’ goal and performance were very positive signs for all Wolves’ fans.

    Norwich 1 – 2 Leeds

Whilst Leeds team were able to win away at Norwich in a difficult game. The individual brilliance of Raphinha was key to give Leeds the lead and when the Canaries seemed to almost get something out the game the winner came by way of Rodrigo’s effort from outside the box. The keeper was unable to sort himself out as the ball skipped past under him.

After another exciting batch of games, we cannot look forward enough to the next lot of football, luckily there is European competition for some of us.

Keep an eye out for future posts like this, we shall be predicting Matchweek #11 this week.
