    Hello
apologies for any errors I'm visually impaired.

I am my mother's carer & I am registered visually impaired
My mother has cataracts & dementia & dexterity problems & can no longer see the in home display we are on the Priority Services Register.

We have requested an accessible in home display.
These in home displays are larger & more tactile & they speak which makes them more accessible for disabled customers. Myself nor my mother can see the old in home display.

However Utilita have stated that there will be a £39.99 charge added as there is nothing wrong with the old ihd.

However Utilita will be failing to meet the voluntary replacement principles for IHDs, which recommend providing AIHDs to customers with accessibility needs & it is against Ofgem rules to charge for an AIHD.

    Can someone advise please?

@Disabledbutliving Hi there, firstly, sorry to hear that you are in this situation where you are unable to use your In-Home Display with the current unsuitable on you have for yours and your mothers needs.

What I am going to do is drop you a private message so I can confirm your account details and then I will get this investigated for you 😊

Please keep an eye out in the next ten minutes for a private mail.

    Thanks,
    Rebecca
