Recently I had my meter replaced and out of a box came a brand new in home display which the engineer was setting up ..
I asked the engineer if I needed to have one as I've got the utilita app?
No if you don't want too he said , and put it back in the box..
I do feel that unless you haven't got a smart phone these in home displays are another piece of gadgetry hanging around the house using electricity ..
Download the app and help save the planet all these in home displays end up in landfill or incinerated AND add to the costs of supplying electricity..
Now the government have switched off 3G surely there cannot be many people who cannot put the app on their phone..
With the app if you're in America you can still check on your electricity..
If you don't use your in-home display, next time a engineer offer's you one say no ✋..

Thanks for your post - and your 5* review! My colleague showed me this morning, and I'm delighted that we managed to get your meters fixed!

We always recommend customers to have an In Home Display as well as the app - it's a great tool for people who are elderly, housebound, or people who don't use Smartphone technology. There can be times where the app isn't the best solution for everyone, so having an IHD gives people the opportunity - but everyone is different and if the app works best for some people, it's a great way of having everything at your fingertips!
