    I've been getting emails from utilita telling me I'm going to be charged a STANDING CHARGE from 1st October..
    I have been on various forums warning people about this, all the while the utilita spin doctor's telling customers it's not true..
    I have called utilita and been told various "stories" from people who answer the phones but they don't speak English..
    They told me I'm being slapped with 42p a day standing charge because I haven't got a smart meter, when I point out utilita fitted a smart meter at my property August 2022 the story changes..
    Basically the new story is those not on prepayment tariff are being slapped with 42p a day charge but I can assure you I'm a prepayment customer with a smart meter and I'm about to be hit with it..
    I joined utilita as a low user because they claimed no standing charge but now other providers are offering no standing charge it's time to leave..
