hi I'm new to something like this but has anyone else noticed since the national meter update that everytime you top up it gets applied to the cost so far for the electric meter, if your recovery percentage is 100% and you top up £10 the cost so far will jump to that amount if you have 20% recovery that percentage taken for a debt is also applied

Hi @David78,
This has been an effect of the meter update, and we have noticed that this has affected customers. Can I ask if this is showing on the app, the IHD or both?
Thanks,

both meter and in home display show the top up to the cost so far the app has no effect and shows the correct usage for that day. but this can be alarming to someone who isn't aware of this problem and think there daily usage is the amount they top up.

Hi @David78,
Thanks for confirming this information. The issue is only with the usage display, meaning that extra usage displayed will not be getting deducted from the meter and debt will still be collected in accordance with the agreed recovery rate on the meter. Your feedback will help our smart metering team be able to understand why this is happening, and look into a possible fix for this issue. I have sent you a direct message with some further information.
Thanks,
William
