I've checked my electric meter. It is charging me 0.58p or there abouts for all the days usage not just the first 2kw. Yesterday I used 30.7kw and it cost me £15.69. YOU WHAT!!! Should be 58.7p for first 2kw then 22.6p for the remainder of the day. That's like £7 or £8 electric. Thought I'd switch to all electric see if that helps, clearly not when I'm being charged way way way over the odds. Cant live like this. I want moving to monthly billing as well, this stress is going to put me in a early grave.

So if they can't talk to your smart meter your charged a monthly rate per kw at 58p then after 60+kw it drops down. This was not stated or made clear at the time of sign up. That is totally different in terms of costs, and how I can manage and spend what I have.
I'm lodging an official complaint now. Not fair, not right, not on. Stinks -
So is it the first 60kw at higher rate or first 180kw as app is saying first 180kw. This is even more frustrating, miss-selling and false advertising. I mean if used 30kw yesterday and nearly 15kw day before that's 45kw and getting close to that for today shoukd i not be already have hit the 60kw I'd be on the lower rate already.
I'm getting ripped off everywhere I turn. No payback for power down, extortionate debt rates at 20%, transferring credit which you already paid your debt back on you have to pay again. Over charged or at least wrong rates.
This is making me sooo ill it's unbelievable. -

Well Pete never got back in touch, but i did figure it out for myself!
I'll answer it here then if anybody else has the same query it might help them also...
When topping up if you have any debt owing that you pay back a percentage on, then it will count your payback amount as a cost. Thus it seems as if you have been charged more that day as it comes under costs. This is a Secure Liberty 100, other meters may not operate in this way.
Also top ups via my top up card don't register in the app, so it was difficult to plainly see. They will register properly if I use the app or online method, but instore top ups don't register.
After taking a months worth of readings just before midnight, also not using my gas and only electric it has probably worked out about the same in costs but comfort level has been way lower. However I'm not using gas again until I get the old back boiler replaced , as its inefficient and possibly a hazard due to age.
Thanks for all you help, and I hope this saves someone a couple of months of anguish, should anyone else have a similar query or give Utilita staff some knkwledge which they may never have realised and save sometime there. -

Please accept my apologies for not having come back to you - I had sent off your information to our billing team to investigate further, and this can take a few weeks to go over, especially at this time of year.
I'm pleased that you've managed to work this out though - one thing I hadn't factored in was the debt balance on your meter, which seems in hindsight for me to be the first place I should have looked! You're correct in saying that any debt balance will be taken from the meter prior to any balance being applied to the account.
