I'm new to Utilita and I'm wondering how they will handle this situation.
Iinm, the gas meter connects via the electricity meter. They're both smart meters (landis & Gyr) but the gas doesn't seem to have a good connection to the electricity. The electricity meter seems to report its usage OK (or is it pulled by Utilita?), so its cell connection seems to be fine (despite it being under the stairs).
I changed to variable direct debit to avoid the higher dates, but if they can't read the gas meter, how will they determine usage?
My usage is very low for both.
It will be very difficult for me to get a reading of the gas meter. Isn't it the responsibility of the supply company to read it? Will they try to replace it? Is there a new one that has better connectivity (has an external antenna or higher power antenna, or something)? Maybe a meter that has its own cell connection rather than using the electricity meter?
Is there something I'm misunderstanding about how this all works?
Wdyt?
