Did you know, 51% of people who rent are yet to get a smart meter. That means they’re at risk of struggling with fuel poverty without the connectivity and support on offer from their energy supplier, as well as missing out on many more money-saving benefits.
Our research has revealed that more than a third of tenants who pay the bills (35%) do not know they can accept a smart meter, and almost 2 in 5 tenants say they are waiting for a smart meter or haven’t been offered one by their supplier (37%). Not good.
UTILITA TO THE RESCUE. As the first energy supplier to fit a smart meter in the UK, and the highest proportion of customers already smart installed (95%), this is a campaign for Utilita!
We’ve enlisted the support of the TV favourite ‘Nightmare Tenant, Slum Landlord’ presenter, Paul Shamplina, to educate landlords on the benefits of smart meters for tenants, and why a quick text to their tenant to say ‘I’m happy for you to accept a smart meter as the bill payer’ could be life-saving this winter.
