We’re certainly loving the longer day light hours; the array of flowers in bloom, the birds chirping away, and most importantly, the warmer weather which has been well overdue!
So, in time for the warmer temperatures, we thought we’d remind you of a few small steps to ensure your energy spend benefits, too!
Keep reading for some helpful tips!
Adjust your thermostat
You might want to turn down your thermostat, as the temperatures outside are slowly creeping up, your home will retain the natural heat, meaning less need for you to be pumping the central heating once the sun sets! Your wallet will thank you, we promise!
Update your boiler clock
The daylight savings are a result of the clocks going back at the end of March; Although you may have already changed the time on your oven, microwave and other appliances, the most important and most forgotten thing is your boiler. Otherwise your programmed heating settings may get messed up!
Turn down your boiler
After you’ve updated the time on the boiler, be sure to update your programmed on/off settings. You may want to lower the amount of hours your heating is on for now, given the sharp increase in temperature the last week or so. While you’re at it, you may want to review the temperature levels on your boiler. Most standard boilers have a control for each water and heating (these are often displayed as a bar or dial).
As the Utilita Energy High 5 has proven - the perfect hot water temperature is lower than you may think! Find out more at https://utilita.co.uk/campaigns/high5
