As reported by The Guardian today..

A number of major suppliers have temporarily stopped chasing customers in debt in response to the growing cost of living crisis.

This applies particularary to those switched to prepay, who have their top ups automatically deducted to pay back the suppliers.

Ovo and E.ON promised last month to stop all debt recovery on prepayment meters until at least March.

OVO, Utilita and Shell paused forced installations by warrant over Christmas. ScottishPower has stopped the practice since December.

Which is an empty claim since *Ofgem already prohibits this practice between October and March anyway.*

Considering the crisis so many are facing right now - we should demand UTILITA HALT ALL FORCED PREPAY INSTALLATIONS - and also END FORCED REPAYMENT OF ENERGY DEBTS ON THEIR PREPAY METERS until this crisis subsides...

or even better, WRITE THE DEBT OFF ENTIRELY as much of it is never going to realistically be recovered anyway,

- especially when THEY CAN'T EVEN ANSWER THE PHONE.
