It seams that £66 from gov payment is taken to quick. When we top up out meter our usage is
£2-£2.8 electricity a day. As soon that payment from gov is applied to our smart prepayment meter our usage per day with some unexplained force jumps up to £4-4.8 day (and we def know we didnt change out usage) . Does anyone has same problems. And utility why is that ( seams to me like obvious ripp off).

you have to realise thats when the prices went up .my electric doubled from £30 mth to £60 mth.and im on state pension so without the help it would probably be a struggle.

@michaelfoden , im electrician by trade and as we all know and we all realised that prices are going up, that is not what i strugling to understand. What i was pointing out that when we use our own money to top up electric we are (with all those price rises) able to have £20 week on electric, and when gov payment off £66 goes on our electricity we are sudenly using £33 week (from that gov payment). And that is without adding some extra apliances in fact it is with more saving awearnes to stretch that gov payment to last as longer. So it looks like when that gov payment is applied utilita just takes as pleased from it and as quickest it runs out they expect your hard earned cash.

    Hi
Thanks for sharing you have same issue. I thought that im going nuts waking up in morning and seeing that we already used £1.5 over night, just on fridge/freezer and chest freezer.
Asked utilita and raised issue, got back auto replly we will be in touch in 5working days. Will not even try to phone (just dont have time to sit and wait on phone as working and then at home carer for my disabeled misses). So will see what utilita came up with response.
