Anyone else just watch the credit go down by the minute as soon as the government money goes on?? £25 electric in less than a week then gas don't get me started spending nearly £6 a day, I really feel for people that rely on electric to keep them alive! Even if you are on priority register with utilita they still turn your supply off!!!

Yes, it's literally like watching money burn, and every-time you top it up then use it - it seems to cost more. So depressing. The energy grant is great, I'm not complaining but it's a drop in the ocean, and quickly swallowed-up!

Just putting the central heating on for a couple of hours, when it's been below freezing degrees -0C as it has most of this week. Wow, adds nearly £10 on the gas and with a gas/combi system a bit more on the electric.

When I was out of gas the other day but still had electric on, NO heating at all - so decided to drag out the Electra floor fan heater for a couple of hours, again - over £10 electric just for that. (my normal daily usage is around about £2.60-£3.60)

Our homes are very badly insulated unless you're lucky, any amount of heating-up your home quickly dissipates no matter what sort of system you use. Th ONLY person I know of who's managing to say warm is my mate Phil, who wisely invested in a log-burner stove in his living room. He just heats the downstairs with it but it is so cosy and warm, and other than a couple of showers a week (I know!) his gas bill is pennies.

I'm not blaming Utilita for these insane costs, it's not the fault overall - but it doesn't help when they can't be reached and their systems are stuck in the dark ages.

To be honest it's remarkable any of the smaller energy suppliers are still trading at all, considering many claim they are now running at a loss.
