You may have seen recently that we’re the headline sponsor for Future Steps – a 10,000 step a day challenge throughout February to raise funds for The Prince’s Trust.

Well, we’re now over halfway through the challenge and we’re having a great time!

As a company we’ve walked an incredible 18 million steps and so far, raised a total of £2000 – but it doesn’t stop there…

People are taking part in Future Steps across the nation, either individually or as part of a team of up to six, and altogether everyone has raised an amazing £108,500 and walked a whopping 671 million steps!

We’ve had teams enter from all areas of the business including our Head Office in Chandler’s Ford and from our Energy Hubs too and the competition between teams is heating up.

We’ve even had a few of our customers enter the challenge too, so if it’s you – thank you, well done and good luck! We’d love to see some photos of you out on your walks, clocking up your 10,000 steps. Send them over to charity@utilita.co.uk.

The Prince’s Trust have been our charity partner for almost two years. They help young people all over the UK to build their confidence and skills and support them into jobs, education and training. Founded by The Prince of Wales in 1976, the charity supports 11- to 30-year-olds who are unemployed, struggling at school or at risk of exclusion. Many of the young people helped by The Trust are in or leaving care or facing issues such as homelessness or mental health problems.

“With so many young people’s lives disrupted and impacted by the pandemic, their education or career plans may have been put on hold, so it’s important that the support they need to confidently get back on track is there when they need it most”.
Kelly Kane, Utilita Team Leader

I’ll let you know again next week how we got on with the whole challenge, but feel free to leave some messages of support for our walkers 😀

Keira,
Utilita's Charity Partnerships Officer
